The Des Plaines Park District provides a variety of recreational programs, sports activities, concerts, and other community activities for residents of Des Plaines, Illinois and surrounding cities. The Park District has over 50 parks and 6 major facilities including the famed Golf Center Des Plaines, the Prairie Lakes Fitness Center, Mystic Waters Family Aquatic Center, Lake Park Golf Course, Mountain View Adventure Center and the Leisure Center. The Prairie Lakes Theater is home to Footlighters Theatre Company and Big Noise Theatre Company. The Des Plaines Teen Center, one of the premier facilities for kids in grades 6 through 12, is located in the Leisure Center.
